Mystery room engages Saint-Gobain’s new hires
Each year, Saint Gobain dedicates a special event to its 50 newest employees, designed to facilitate integration and introduce them to the company culture
This year, the team sought an original activity. One that would depart from the previous year’s “cocktail challenge,” while still taking place on company premises. The aim was clear: spark social interaction, cultivate a positive atmosphere, and offer an experience both engaging and memorable for everyone involved.
Choosing a unique team building solution
Having collaborated extensively with Saint-Gobain, Smart Eventi was already well-versed in the company’s preferences and the most popular team building formats. Several creative proposals were presented, and the “Mystery Room” emerged as the preferred choice, a format that is widely appreciated by clients across different contexts. Seamlessly adaptable to the company’s headquarters, the activity allowed precise coordination of timing, delivering a balance of stimulating challenges, enjoyable moments, and creative prompts.

Collaboration and engagement from the start
During the Mystery Room experience, each participant could test their skills, collaborate closely with colleagues, and form meaningful connections with newly introduced team members. The structured yet playful environment promoted early bonding, while the tasks themselves encouraged problem-solving, creativity, and communication. By blending fun with professional development, the activity immediately generated interaction and cooperation among the new hires, as is typical of creative team building experiences.

Results that resonate beyond the activity
The event successfully achieved all objectives. Participants socialised naturally, breaking the ice and establishing rapport with peers. Enthusiasm and motivation permeated the group, creating an optimal environment for subsequent professional activities. Through a carefully designed and engaging approach, new employees developed solid relationships and a stronger sense of belonging within the company. As Maura Granata, from Saint-Gobain’s internal communications, noted, “When team building doubles as icebreaking, event success is guaranteed.”
