For their annual incentive event, the HR team at this insurance company was after something genuine: a mountain destination no more than an hour and a half from Trieste, offering just the right balance of relaxation, fun, and real togetherness. Nothing contrived, no compromises — just a meaningful setting where people could reconnect, switch off from the daily grind, and enjoy a shared experience in the heart of the mountains.

Ice building, snowshoeing and farm-to-table dining: a weekend the team won't forget
About an hour from Trieste, we handpicked a prestigious venue just ten minutes from Monte Zoncolan. The group arrived on the first afternoon, settled in, and got straight into the experience: a truly original team-building activity called "Ice Building," where every participant picked up a chisel and had a go at sculpting a penguin entirely out of ice. Perfectly suited to the mountain temperatures — and a brilliant way to break the ice between colleagues, as it were. The evening wrapped up with a traditional Friulian dinner with locally sourced produce, and the sort of cooking that the region does quietly, brilliantly well. Day two brought snowshoeing on Monte Zoncolan through fresh snow, followed by lunch at a mountain refuge: honest food, sweeping views, and a wonderfully unhurried pace. The group headed home in the afternoon, bags light and spirits anything but.
