Carton boat team building on Lake Como for Yacht Club Eriolario
An exclusive team building experience took place on Lake Como for Yacht Club Eriolario members concluding an international weekend dedicated to social connection and shared experiences.
The objective focused on delivering a structured activity that combined enjoyment, collaboration and team spirit within a prestigious setting, aligned with the atmosphere developed throughout the event programme.

Context of the Yacht Club Eriolario experience
The client required a special activity designed for the final morning of a weekend hosting international members of the Yacht Club.
The intention was to extend the sense of shared time and reinforce informal connections in a structured but relaxed environment set on Lake Como, where nautical culture naturally frames the experience. The chosen format needed to reflect continuity with the broader spirit of conviviality that characterised the entire stay.

Carton boat team building concept on Lake Como
To respond to this requirement, the Carton Boat team building activity was selected, a format widely used in experiential corporate programmes and particularly suited to lake environments.
The activity aligned with the identity of the client, strongly connected to the world of Riva boats, and introduced a playful yet structured competitive dimension within a controlled setting on Lake Como.

Team structure and construction phase
The experience involved thirty participants divided into four teams, each assigned the task of designing and building a fully functional boat using cardboard materials. The process required collective planning, rapid decision making and shared responsibility during the construction phase.
After an initial brainstorming stage, teams collaborated closely to define structure, stability and aesthetic choices, working within time constraints that shaped the pace of execution.

Water challenge and race dynamics
Once completed, the cardboard boats were tested directly on the water in a timed race that introduced a clear competitive element. The transition from construction to performance created a shift in focus from planning to execution, generating moments of tension and coordination.
Only two boats managed to remain operational until the end of the challenge, which intensified engagement across all teams and highlighted differences in design and construction strategies.

Objectives and experiential outcome
The Carton Boat activity achieved the intended objectives by reinforcing group cohesion, stimulating creativity and offering an unconventional shared experience within a prestigious natural environment.
Participants engaged in continuous collaboration, moving between planning, building and competition phases in a single integrated flow. The final morning setting on Lake Como supported a structured yet informal atmosphere, concluding the weekend with a collective experience centred on teamwork and shared participation.
